Listening Skills
If you are going to develop your listening skills then you will have to get used to different accents. The English accent (UK) varies from region to region throughout the UK. Platforms such as YouTube are one of the best resources for this type of activity. Here are a few different accents you can compare:
Birmingham
Manchester
Sheffield
London
In my listening classes, audio sound clips are played through your computer, you are asked to take notes and answer questions about what you have heard. The purpose of these classes is to familiarise you with different accents, speed of speech, and voice tones.
Most learners are more comfortable with developing their writing skills than their speaking and listening skills. In my opinion listening skills are as important as developing the others. Training yourself to listen to key information comes with practice and time. I attach a link to a website that I found useful to demonstrate the importance of this Skill.
