Opinions 5

Image
The 5th edition to a series of lesson plans that challenge your grammar skills. Structured by topic you will answer questions and express an opinion or thought. Voice tones are a key feature so we have added an audio facility where specific parts of the class are recorded allowing you to practice on any portable device. Conversation is dependent on two key components, the ability to apply both listening and speaking skills. For more information about our conversation courses visit our website  www.one2oneacademy.com .

This lesson plan will show you how to apply your grammar: Mark- " Hi, I haven't seen you in ages!, how have you been?". Sam- " Well thanks, yes it's been too long, why don't we catch up over a coffee?". Mark- " Sounds great, are you free next Tuesday?". Sam- " Ok, where would you like to meet?". Mark- " How about the little coffee shop next to Zara?". Sam- " Can we meet at 1pm because I have to get back to work?". Mark- " Perfect, so I will see you at the coffee shop at 1pm on Tuesday!". My classes are designed around conversation, not books! If you want to try a different approach to learning contact me today. This develops confidence and decreases processing time allowing the student to respond at speed to various questions. The student is placed in situations where they have to think in a second language rather than translate from a first to a second language. Coffee shop: Hi, what can I get you? Good morning, what would you like? What would you like? Ordering a coffee: Good morning Could I have a coffee: Black no sugar Black with one sugar Black with two sugars White with one sugar White with two sugars White but milky Strong( not a lot of milk) Extra large Large Medium/ regular Small Additional vocabulary: Please Thank you To go/ take away To have here To drink in Glass Cup Cream Extra Sweetener Spoons Refill Another ........

pronunciation

Pronunciation classes This has always been a challenging topic, as a teacher I personally never want to change a students accent. I believe that it is not necessary, the importance is in what I refer to as clear speech. We all want to be understood and this has prompted me to develop my own system of teaching pronunciation. Let us take a look at the following simple sentence construction: Hi, my name is James and I live in London. My teaching technique breaks each word down into sections and the word is changed to reflect a target sound. This sound is likened to other similar sounding words. Please take a look bellow: High, m- eye nay m iz James and eye liv in Lun- don. Hi- high My- m eye Name- nay m Is- iz James And I- eye Iive- liv In London- lundon Students could identify with this system very easily, and those who needed additional support were shown similar sounding words which they could identify with. Let's look at the following Noun: James I draw attention towards...
